A multitude of twisting green leaves, each with a white blaze down its center, comprise this unique hosta. Ground-hugging foliage stays a compact 6 inches tall. 'Hideout' adds motion to a shady spot with morning sun and dons lavender flowers in summer.

Foliage: Densely clustered, wavy, lance-shaped leaves with creamy white centers and green margins. Asymmetrical wavy edges give the leaves a hooked shape, making them point in all directions.
Flowers: Lavender, tube-shaped flowers that grow on pale, pinkish scapes above the foliage. Blooms early to mid summer.
Plant Origin: East Asia, primarily Japan and Korea. Most commercially available hostas are hybrids.
Wildlife Support: Hummingbirds and some bees enjoy the flowers. A favorite treat for our local deer.
Fertilizing: Apply compost in early spring before new growth emerges.
Pruning: Remove spent flower stalks to encourage new growth; trim back damaged or yellowing leaves as needed. Leave the leaves over the winter and wait until early spring to clean up.
