Landscape Specialist - Full Time

Position Overview: Landscape Specialists are the knowledgeable, friendly faces that assist our guests find the plants and information they need. Using past experience and education, they pool knowledge with other landscape specialists to cover all things horticulture, and how to care for them. Customer service, salesmanship, personality, and being a team player are all important parts of the position. The nursery is weekend-focused, so they are included full-time requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Player:

* Assist guests with accurate information and excellent service.

* Not afraid to jump into helping with any immediate tasks.

* Work with fellow Landscape Specialists to cover all areas of the nursery lot.

* Communicate with checkout, office and greenhouse staff to acquire information about plant inventory

Plant Care & Maintenance:

* The General Manager will at times require help with watering, pruning, and fertilizing inventory.

* Use best practices to maintain the highest quality standards for our plants.

Logistics:

* Assist with the unloading and organization of multiple weekly truckloads of plants.

Qualifications:

* Proven experience in horticulture, landscaping, or a related retail/wholesale field. Certified horticulture education preferred.

* Customer service skills, and time management.

* Ability to work in an at-times seasonally fast-paced, physically demanding environment.

* Knowledge of many landscape plants and their care, native plants are a bonus!

* Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required

Physical Requirements:

* Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

* Comfortable standing, walking, and performing manual tasks for extended periods.

* Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
