On the Back Side of July

Warm-up to savings continues, 30% off all plants!

As July draws to a close, I am all too aware of just how quickly time passes. Summertime is a time for projects. Everything we need to get done around the nursery is best done at this time of year. To be sure, we tend to all things horticultural in nature. There seems to be however, a never-ending stream of other projects to work on.

We are indeed fortunate to have been in business a great many years. The downside to that is; we have an aging facility. The natural state of disorder is in full force. Over the passage of time, regardless of how well things are built, the ongoing process of deterioration occurs. I think it was Paul Simon who said, “Everything put together falls apart".

We are in the process of re-sealing and re-striping our paved sales area. It sounds like a pretty straightforward process. We get an area ready during the week and on Sundays our contractor comes in, applies the sealant, and re-stripes the area. The only problem is that we have had rain, at least in some measure, each of the last three Sundays. Hopefully, the forecast this Sunday will hold and give us the sunshine we need. I suspect we all could use a sunny Sunday!

While the rain works against us on re-sealing our lot, it very much works in our collective favor with regard to our gardens. We are extending our Warm up to Savings sale, going on now! Through the close of business on August 1st, we will continue to offer our BatesRewards members 30% off all plants. Whether you need trees, shrubs, edible landscape plants, groundcovers, ornamental grasses, or perennials, all plants… Everything that is growing, 30% off! Reminder: if you have a spot where you need additional expertise, take a few pictures or a short video. That helps us to visualize the area you need assistance in. Remember folks, we have refreshingly free bottled water on ice!

Hope you'll come see us,
