I recently discovered a roll of videotape with a couple of our vintage TV commercials from 1977. My dad, Earl Bates, came up with the concept of Bilko Dept. Store. It is a parody that shows the difference between the department store approach to plants and what we have always tried to do. Featured in the video is: Twila Walker and Chuck Morgan. Twila Walker, best known for her role as Elvira, in Tennessee tourism commercials is the aggravated shopper. Chuck Morgan, the (now) long-time stadium voice of the Texas Rangers, plays the part of a hapless salesperson. Now for something new…
Star Trek was only a five-year mission. Since somewhere around 2003 we have been updating our website. We’ve gotten close three different times, but until now, no cigar. Understand: I don’t advocate smoking, but if you’ve got ‘em, smoke ‘em. FINALLY after years and tears, we now have our new website up and running. We've done our best to improve the best aspects and add new features we hope you'll enjoy.
For starters, you'll see a new look, feel and color scheme. Across the top of each page, you'll find the navigation bar. From the variety of choices available, you will find a wide range of information on plant care, availability and other information. The most important elements are on the homepage. There you'll find our most recent newsletter posted, as well as links to our various social media connections.
Located on the Home page, at the bottom of our Stay Connected section, is a link that says Follow me on RebelMouse. RebelMouse is a special social media collection page. It doesn't matter if you're on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, YouTube, Pinterest or any social media at all. Simply click on the Follow me on RebelMouse connection and you'll get to see the best of all the social media we offer. I invite you to check that out as well as all the informational connections on the new batesnursery.com!
