It is a frequent saying that when March comes in like a
lion, it goes out like a lamb. May arrived like an ill-tempered jackass and is
going out like a well-mannered Shetland pony. Equestrian references aside, the
weather, as usual, is a guessing game. There is no shortage of surprises. I
much prefer Shetland pony weather.
Considering that many of us began the month with 15 inches of rain, it is only fitting to send May out properly. No one living will forget May of 2010 in middle
That’s right, 15% off everything for your gardens this Memorial Day weekend. We know you have things to plant. There are spring projects you intended to get done, or need to re-do. Whatever the case, we want May to end for us all on a positive note. We have brought in several semi-loads of fabulous fare for your perusal. We have brought in another half semi-load of annuals. We have the professionals to help you get the right plant in the right place, the first time. I even gave our mascot, Bella, a bath…much to her chagrin.
I have information from “reliable sources”; looks like Metro Water’s Harrington plant will be back on line by Tuesday, June 1. That should give us gardeners a great relief, with the lifting of water restrictions in sight. So come on out and help us give May a proper send-off. Remember this: Our hours are from 8am to 5pm through Saturday, Noon until 4pm on Sunday, and 8am until Noon on Monday, Memorial Day. Even us plant people need a little time away. Hopefully the savings will add a happy exclamation point to the month. I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to put that ill-tempered jackass out to pasture.
We’ll be on our best manners,
