Au revoir, Adios and Good-bye to August; Transition towards Autumn Approaches
Discount by the Date returns this weekend
With humidity and temperatures noticeably lower levels, you can’t help but begin thinking fall. Even though the autumnal equinox is still nearly a month away, signs point to a (hopefully) early (and long lasting) autumn. It doesn’t really matter what the calendar says. While the statistical probability of more heat during this time of year is undeniable, the forecast for the foreseeable future looks decidedly rosey. I have even detected a noticeable pep in nursery mascot, Bella’s step.
We all know, dogs don’t lie, except when it comes to food. Every day Bella expresses her unwavering love and commitment to me…unless someone shows up with a steak bone. After woofing the latest treat down, she always comes back like nothing happened. Sometimes I don’t even know that dog anymore; I digress…
Okay, apparently the heat from earlier this month has gotten to me. We have received two semi-loads of plants this week, moved our tree lot to a much more convenient location (along the side of the large Quonset hut greenhouse), moved and re-organized the upright conifers and gotten ourselves in high gear in preparation for fall.
Doesn’t seem right to let August just slip on by without a proper send-off. We are bringing back, for one last time this summer, Discount by the Date sale, through Thursday September 2, 2010 for our BatesRewards members. Of course that means you get to discount your entire order by the date of that day. Friday customers will receive a whopping 27% off, Saturday guests receive 28%, and Sunday shoppers will enjoy 29% off. The gloom of Monday will be tempered by an incredible 30% off everything. Tuesday through Thursday you will happily skip through the aisles, whistlin’ Dixie (I’m gonna have my camera ready) with the knowledge that you will be getting 31% off! Groupons are welcome, just not in conjunction with the sale; gift certificates and deliveries are not included in sale prices.
By the way, I’ll be a guest on NewsChannel 5 ‘s Talk of the Town on Wednesday, September 1st at 11am.
Load up and come see us, the weather is divine!
Au revoir for now, hope to see you this week,
