All Hallows Thanks and Treats

BatesRewards members get 25% off all trees through November 4th

It’s the time of year when tree planting couldn’t be better. Cooler temperatures and rainfall make for favorable planting (well, actually hole digging) conditions. It is also time to reflect on the past three years since my return, and offer thanks to you our BatesRewards members. Without your loyalty, getting through another year, and all of the challenges that go with it, wouldn’t be possible.

The entire staff at Bates takes extreme pride in the fact that you give us the opportunity to serve your horticultural needs. We thank you for the confidence you place in us. As we approach our 80th year of business, it is a time where I think often of my grandmother and the start she gave us way back in 1932. Whatever challenges we face today cannot compare to what was faced at the outset. She was amazing.

Even though we mean to, in the bustle of business, it is likely we fail to offer our appreciation every time you visit. In light of that, we want to say “thank-you” by extending a 25% discount on all trees we have in stock through Thursday November 4, 2011. When I say all trees I mean all. You may choose shade trees, ornamental trees, fruit trees, magnolias, crape myrtles and yes, Japanese maples…all trees we have in stock at 25% off. We just received additional shipments of trees this week…huge selection.

It is nearly time to close the door on seeding, but before we do here’s one final special. Just in case you haven’t gotten your fall seeding done; we still have several 25 pound bags of Gold Standard® Fescue seed on hand. We will offer these already specially priced bags for only $39.99, while supply lasts (that’s over $14 less than the big boxes sell a similar, but lesser, product for). This week will mark the end of turf grass seed sales for us. If you’re planning to wait until spring, it is a great opportunity to buy now and seed later.

Plant some trees this weekend; you may need the diversion from football…

We look forward to seeing you,

David Bates
