Perhaps there have been
springs where the weather has been more up and down, but I don’t recall. I
think it is a sign. It’s a sign of Global Uncertainty. Global Uncertainty is a
lot like Global Warming except Global Uncertainty can’t make up its mind. It
gets really hot and then it cools way off. Near record highs and near record
lows in the same week…that’s right: Global Uncertainty. If the globe is
uncertain, then how are we all supposed to feel?
There is, and will be much more, talk of the Mayan calendar. That’s the folk who took the time to make a really durable calendar…out of stone. They ended the calendar on December 21, 2012. Apparently there are many who feel that if you take the time to carve a calendar out of rock, you must possess powers of prognostication. Personally, I think they just ran out of room…I digress.
Barring some Nostradamaceus-doom-and-destruction event, it should be a really nice Memorial Day weekend! Even though it will be hot, the good soil moisture that persists will make for great planting. You might wish to get your shopping done in the heat (we have not forgotten to ice the bottled water; we know the importance of hydration in times of stress…whatever the cause!) and save the planting for the evening. Come on out, grab the kids (or the grand-kids), give Bella a pat on the head and let us help you find what your garden needs.
This entire Memorial Day weekend I urge you to garden at a relaxed pace; we’d love to have you out! A thank-you to all of our loyal BatesRewards members, like you : You will receive a free bag of EarthMix® Premium Topsoil Blend with your purchase Come on out the weather is…tolerable, but the plants have not been better! We are OPEN Memorial Day from 8:00am until Noon.
Come for a visit and chill with us,
