Sublime September

‘Dirt’ shirt giveaway extended…while supplies last!

We’ve heard from a lot of folks: “I want to get my t-shirt, but I can’t get out until next week!” We have heard you loud and clear. Therefore, we are extending our “Dirt” shirt giveaway (1 per BatesRewards household with $50 purchase) through Wednesday September 19, 2012. Please note: we have run out of medium-sized shirts, but we still have L, XL, and 2XL on hand. Hurry in and get yours while supplies last! Don’t forget to wear your t-shirt to the nursery every Tuesday in the fall for our Ten-off T-shirt Tuesdays event…and get 10% off your entire order!

There seems to be no end in sight for the sublime weather we are experiencing. We do have a chance for rain early next week, but that is a good thing! Many folks are in lawn over-seeding mode; the weather is just about perfect. Speaking of over-seeding, we have received our shipments of premium turfgrass seed today. We strive to offer the most drought tolerant and disease resistant varieties on the market. We have made a couple of changes that reflect our desire to offer the seeds that we feel give the best opportunity for success in your lawn.

The first of our new seed offerings is Seeds for Life Tall Fescue Mix. This seed is unmistakable: it’s pink! This “HydroLock” coated seed has a pink coloring agent to not only increase visibility, germination and survival, but also increase awareness for breast cancer. A donation is made by Seeds for Life for every pound sold, to: Susan G. Komen for the Cure®. For complete details, please visit www.seeds4life.com and www.komen.org. Seeds for Life Tall Fescue Mix is available in 5 and 20 pound bags.

We are also offering for the first time PTT, a/k/a Proven Turfgrass Technology. PTT is a blend of the best, tried-and-true varieties. The turf professionals at Dickens Turf and Landscape Supply have put together this blend of the “best of the best” turf-type fescues; specifically for the middle Tennessee area, available in 10 or 50 pound bags.

With the official return of fall next weekend, we will begin opening on Sundays starting Sunday September 23, 2012 from Noon ‘til 4pm…not this coming Sunday, the next Sunday!

Our fall selection is vast, hope you’ll come see us!
